Period of project implementation: 01.07.2014. – 25.07.2014.

Budget: 12.000,00 Kn

The idea of this project is renovation of neglected recreation fields so young people would have space for engagement in amateur sport and parlour games and thereby increase youth participation in life of civil society.

Lack of physical activity and healthy life style of youth is in constant increase, so we want to encourage young people in active participation in healthy life style by promoting outdoor activities and amateur sport. This way we are promoting healthy life style, supporting social inclusion and active participation of youth in society. Obesity attracts other health problems, and its estimated that 50% of male and 35% of female population in Europe is overweight. From consequences of obesity 320000 people dies every year. The biggest cause of such conditions are inadequate physical activity and poor nutrition. Healthy life style is made of everyday recreation, healthy diet, outdoor activities and healthy interpersonal relationships. All that is considered solution for everyday problems, obesity, lack of physical activity and socialization. Beside health issues, there is also more prominent problem of social life of young people. Even though there are numerous social networks that simplify communication between people, it often happens that young people completely replace physical form of communication with virtual.  This way, virtual communication can become obstacle and not relief in communication, which can lead to social problems whether in education system, at job finding or in personal life.

Project goals:

  • To renew neglected recreation fields to offer young people a great range of activities they can addressed to
  • to secure space that can be used by other organizations in creation of activities for young people and other citizens
  • To affect the acquisition of self-confidence
  • To include youth and other citizens in social life of community
